Hope in the Wilderness – online lent series.
During lent, we remember the time that Jesus spent in the wilderness, preparing for his ministry. During this time he was exposed, without a home, without shelter and without food. He was tempted, alone and vulnerable to the elements.
This year, we may feel that life is a wilderness. The world is an uncertain place and for many people in Bristol the challenges of hunger, lack of shelter, vulnerability and loneliness are made worse by lockdowns, poor accommodation or loss of work.
Hope in the Wilderness is a weekly series of reflections that explore how, even in the desertedness of the wilderness, there is still hope because God is still with us. And through the God in who we hope, new life can spring up in the most barren of places.
Each session of the series will include a short reflection on the theme of the week, an opportunity to hear from a different part of inHope’s work in bringing hope to Bristol, and some time to pray together.
